Kate and William Launch Charity Fund Website

As we expected, Kate and William have decided to set up a gift fund to allow those who want to give a wedding gift, to donate to charity instead, reports Reuters.

 

The site, RoyalWeddingCharityFund.org, includes a statement to explain, “These causes are close to their hearts and reflect the experiences, passions and values of their lives so far.”

 

Kate and William have chosen 26 charities from around the world that will benefit from the Royal Wedding Fund, including groups based in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

Chief Executive of Greenhouse, a charity picked to be on the website, Michael de Giorgio said, “We are absolutely delighted to have been recognized by the royal couple in this way.” Greenhouse helps children in deprived areas through dancing and sports.

Royal Wedding Website Launched

Just a day after launching, the official royal wedding website has already hit 2 million page views, reports Clarence House via Twitter.

OfficialRoyalWedding2011.org has all of the official information about Kate and William’s upcoming wedding. And it makes sense, in keeping with the modern times of announcing things via Twitter, that the royal couple should have a wedding website. Within the first few hours of launching, they were already at about 800,000 page views, so it’s no surprise that they hit 2 million views on the second day, reports NPR.

And in other royal wedding news, Sir Elton John has confirmed he will be attending along with his partner, David Furnish, reports People.com.

Dhoot-Biyani Wedding at Turf Club, Mumbai

Tanushri Dhoot from the Videocon family got married to Vivek Biyani (nephew of Kishore Biyani of Big Bazaar and Future Group) at a lavish ceremony at Turf Club, Mumbai. Shah Rukh Khan who performed at the sangeet a day earlier, came wearing a headband. Sonam Kapoor looked beautiful in a zardozi-embroidered outfit designed by Anuradha Vakil. A host of political, business, sports and bollywood biggies attended the power wedding.
